2010- A Year in Review

Quite a few of the blogs I follow are doing a year end post on their favorite things from the past year -which I really am enjoying reading. However I thought it may be more fun to do a recap on some of the things that made me say "What The What?" this year. Some of the things may not be new to 2010 but made me take notice and shake my head in disbelief/shock/general confusion this year.

Late Night Bacon

Recipe courtesy Rachael Ray

Level: Easy

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

8 slices bacon

Directions

Place 2 sheets of paper towel on a microwave safe plate, lay the bacon out on the paper towel not overlapping the slices. Place 2 more sheets of paper towel on top. Place in the microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes.

Dear Santa- I need another week!

I can't believe today is the 15th. Seriously,I really need at least 2 more weeks but I won't be greedy I'll just take one.

I usually have all my cookies done by now but they're not even close. When I went to start them yesterday this is what my baking supplies cabinet looked like

I ended up making only peanut butter blossoms  mainly because most of the ingredients weren't in the cabinet but in my garage pantry which I didn't have to fight to get into.

Sophia is freaking out about the cookies but I lost the entire last weekend with what appeared to be a gallbladder attack.

Fun.

I like to make as many gifts as possible but so far I only completed two

I still have 2 sets of hurricane lamps to make,all the rest of the cookies, a class party to run, a girl scout trip,hubby's birthday,finish decorating and wrap EVERYTHING.

So if anyone knows how to get that extra week please let me know I really,really need it!

Thursday's Three

I can't believe it's already December. I feel like I just packed up the Halloween decorations! I thought today's three I would share with you  my favorite holiday movies

#1 Favorite

This is not only my favorite holiday movie it's in my all time top 5 movies. I love everything about this movie-the story ,the characters, Bedford Falls, the house, the clothes and of course Zuzu's petals

#2. Favorite

There are many many version of this movie(remember the one with Mr. Magoo?) but this one is my absolute favorite. I think George C. Scott was born  to play old Ebeneezer

#3 Favorite

It's a 3 way tie

I have seen this movie countless times but when Chevy Chase goes down the hill on that saucer sleigh

It just wouldn't be Christmas without the 24 hour marathon of this movie.

I have seen all these movies so many times that I can pretty much recite them word for word but for me it's just a part of the holidays I never want to let go of.
