Friday Fabulous Find
I've made it known in past posts that I am a health & beauty junkie. Getting samples of the newest body lotion, face cream, lip gloss etc. gets me weak in the knees. What you don't know is that I'm a bit of a foundation snob. I would only use the high-end department store brands. After all being that it was $35.00 for a bottle it had to be the best right?
Wrong!
I recently ran out of my foundation but being that I'm trying to cut out all un-necessary spending I figured I would go back to trying the drug store brands-something I hadn't done in about 15 years.I'm so glad I did.The foundation I purchased was Covergirl Simply Ageless Anti-Aging Foundation & it was only $11.99
I have never been good at color-matching so I figured I would try the color Ellen Degeneres wears in her ads as I have the same coloring she does. The color is Classic Ivory and it's a perfect match.
The foundation has swirls of Olay Regenerist Serum in it which blends with the makeup when you apply it.
The first day I wore it I wasn't too thrilled. I had done my morning skin routine: wash, apply serum, moisturizer, primer then makeup. By midday the foundation was sliding off my face. Not too pretty.
The next day I was running late so all I did was wash and makeup. The was the trick- the foundation looked great all day! I didn't need the extra skin prep. That night I was sitting across from my friend Lisa in a school cafeteria which does not have the most flattering light and she commented on how nice my skin looked. This was 12 hours after I put on the make-up with not one touch all day.
The foundation has great coverage without having a thick overdone appearance. It doesn't settle in my pores or the pesky little lines either.
I've been wearing it for about 2 weeks now and my skin actually looks and feels better.
Buh-bye department store overpriced makeup I'm happily going back to the drug store!

Ever have one of those days...
Let me start wih an open letter to the rude parents at my daughter's school,
Good morning lady in big white truck. So sorry that the rules for dropping off our children are so hard for you to follow. I really appreciate you parking your car right in front of the doors and getting out and entering the school when you are only supposed to drop off your child and pull away so the cars behind you may do the same.So sorry the extra 30 feet to park where you're suppose to park is just too far for you to walk. However it's apparently not too far for my daughter to walk carry her saxophone which weighs about half her weight. And her heavybook bag.In the rain. In case you were wondering it was me that flipped you off as I had to maneuver around you to get out. You didn't see it because you were still in the school but know it was done. Please let me know what else I can do to make your life easier. Have a nice day.
As for you Mr. "I'm too important to wait in line like everyone else so I'll just cut right to the front"-yep-it was me who honked at you as soon as the light turned green just to piss you off.
I'm feeling kinda cranky today-I got 3 hours sleep last night, have lots work, fighting off a cold and I'm really, really PMS-ing. It is obvious?

Friday Fab Find-Breast Cancer Awareness & Bonus Code
Those who know me well know I am a big supporter of breast cancer awareness. I fortunately have never had breast cancer but I have had 2 breast tumors removed,2 more core biopsied and 2 more currently being watched. I've been lucky however I have several women in my life who haven't been as fortunate and I'm sure there are some many of you out there who have been similarly affected.
Here are some breast cancer statistics:
To motivate you to buy pink I am offering the following bargains:
Here are some breast cancer statistics:
- 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime
- In 2010, 207,090 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the U.S.
- Approx. 39,840 women are expected to die from this disease in 2010 & this number is down from 1991!
- Approx. 70%-80% of breast cancer occurs in women with no family history of the disease
These statistics frankly suck and we all need to work together to help improve them however we can
For the month of October I proudly raise money for the Susan G Komen Foundation on both my sites
