Friday Fabulous Find

I don't know if I mentioned before but the hubby won(well really me because I gave him all the answers- I am truly a fountain of useless information) a year long subscription to Netflix from an Academy Awards contest through his job. I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying this subscription. Being that I work from home I can watch every movie I ever wanted to see  during the day without any moans and groans from the troops. I either download it to my t.v. through the wii or have it sent by mail which is a 1 day turnaround. Amazing! I watched Up in the Air on Tuesday, sent it back Wed.,received notification they received it on Thursday morning and today received Sherlock Holmes. You can keep the money as long as you'd like but being that I have 77 other items in my queue I watch it the day I get  it and send it right back.
My favorite feature is the Watch Instantly feature-they don't have as many titles available this way but I've been watching t.v. series this way. I'm currently watch the Tudors from the beginning.

Our package is $8.99 per month which gives me 1 movie title sent to the house at a time and unlimited instant streaming. The packages can go as high as $23.99 but with the super fast turnaround time why would you need a bigger package.

This has to be my favorite thing I ever won!

Friday Fabulous Find

A couple of months ago I stumbled across a blog(I can't remember who it was-I'd love to give her credit) where there was a recipe for an easy take make homemade bread. I love to bake so I thought I give it a try and it was incredibly delicious! I'm talking I could easily eat the entire loaf by myself good. The blogger gave the basic recipe but I wanted to try to make more just the one type of  bread so I decided to get the book. It's called Artisan Bread in Five Minutes A Day by Jeff Hertzber & Zoe Francois

All the different bread recipes are a slight deviation from the master recipe:
3 cups warm water
6 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tablespoons yeast(2 packets)
1 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt

Mix it all in a 5 quart container cover & let rise for 2 hours.
You can mix by hand or using a stand mixer with the dough attachment which is what I did.

This is what it looked like after 2 hours

When you are ready to cook cut off a grapefruit sized piece of dough and form a ball. and make 3 slices in top of dough.20 minutes before baking heat over with baking stone inside to 450 degrees. I don't have a baking stone so I just use a large flat
cookie sheet.

This is what it looks like approx. 5 minutes before I put them in the oven. It is also recommended that you  place the dough on a pizza peel but again I don't have one so when it's time to place the dough in the oven I just flop it in.

30 minutes later you have this

Crunchy exterior doughy interior perfectly delicious bread.

One of the best things about this recipe is the is absolutely no kneading involved.

We also made the pizza dough and had homemade pizza. Everything from the dough to the tomato sauce to the fresh mozzarella was homemade. What a difference in taste. The only thing that I can say badly about how it turned out was that I should have cooked it a few minutes more than the recipe called for because the crust was a little too soft.

Here's my cooking companion Sophia putting on the cheese

Before Cooking

After Cooking

Not so pretty especially since I don't yet have a pizza peel so I had to fold the pizza in half to get it in the oven- but delicious.

Dough stays fresh for 2 weeks in the fridge and one batch makes several loaves of bread. I not only love that I have a warm loaf of bread ready for my family in just  a half an hour but I especially love that I know everything that is in it.

I plan on trying take make a rye bread next.
I purchased my book on ebay $15.00  but I saw it today on Amazon.com for $12.72

If you get the book let me know what you make!

Please Countess stick to writing

Ok- those of you who follow my blog know about my obsession with the Real Housewives shows on Bravo. I watch them all. I have never missed an episode and never will. I feel I need to discuss something that I saw on last night's episode that horrified me to the very core of my being.
    The
Countess
Singing

I'm pretty sure that my ears will never recover. Just when you think that Kim from the Atlanta's Housewives "Tarty for the Party" is quite possibly the worse thing you've ever heard the Countess has topped it!

"Money can't buy you class"? Apparently it can't by talent either! How is making a tacky, over synthesized song classy? Maybe she should listen to crazy eyes Ramona and read her own book! Please Countess just stick to giving lessons in being a haughty know it all and leave the singing to someone else.Anyone else.I'd rather listen to my cat hacking up a hairball.

Just a Reminder.....

Just wanted to remind you that there is still time to cast your vote in
May's Name this Necklace contest

Voting ends May 19th

How about this for a coincidence?

They way I design my jewelry is sometimes I do a sketch of a design  but being that I can't draw a straight line with a ruler most of the time I see a material I like, buy it,wait to be inspired and work from there. I few months ago I found this and had to have it:

I saw this rose and had to have it but really wasn't sure what I would do with it. So it sat and my workbench for a few weeks  with no idea what to do with it then I remembered a custom I did last year with opalite beads and I knew that they would look perfect together.

So the end result is this:

I was real happy with the way it turned out and thought it would be just perfect for the summer
Then my May version of Good Housekeeping comes and something on the cover looks vaguely familiar:

Take a good look at Mrs. Obama's necklace. Although I can't be sure but it looks to me like graduated pearls and a pave set rose. Not the same but sure looks it!

Not too bad having the President's wife on the cover of a magazine wearing a similar design. Now if only I can get her wearing something of my designs on another cover......

Friday's Fabulous Find

I haven't said this in a while so I just want to state that in no way and I compensated for my reviews. These are just my personal opinions and are not motivated by any incentives. That is why I sometimes go several weeks without a Fab Find post- I just haven't found anything worth talking about!

This week I have a great product

Let me start by saying I have horribly dry skin. My legs are the worst I swear in the winter you can grate cheese on my legs. I actually scratch myself in my sleep and wake up with bruise lines from the scratching.
Not
Pretty

Now that capri season is back I needed to fix this-fast. I've tried everything from the store brand to the ultra extensive but nothing really work for more than a couple of hours until I stumble upon this.

I started using the Johnson's baby oil gel 2 weeks ago and it's like I have new skin! I put it on while I'm still wet from a shower let it sit there for a few minutes and then blot myself dry. My skin is soft and smooth and surprisingly not even the littlest bit greasy. I haven't scratched my legs in a week.I may even brave a skirt for Mother's Day.

Not only is it a great moisturizer but it smells heavenly with a very light cocoa butter scent. Best yet I only paid $3.99 for it! So if you are like me and have more scales then skin this is your product! I purchased mine at drugstore.com but I saw it at CVS this week.

May's Name This Piece Contest

I know I've been MIA lately but with Mother's Day around the corner and this week being Teacher's Appreciation Week I've been just slammed lately. Not that I'm complaining-I'd rather be busy than having no order at all.

Before the rush I was able to get a few new necklaces completed so I have a beaut for this month's contest

I love piece- Made with antique brass ring chain and a large antique brass donut pendant from with I've attached 6 beautiful olive swarovski rounds. Measures approx. 21" with pendant and has a 3" extender attached. It looks heavier than it actually is. $35.00

For the prize this month I'm doing something a little different-you get to choose the earrings!

That's right ladies- if I choose your submission you get to go on over to my site and pick out any earrings as long as they are in stock.

The rules are the same as always:
Leave a comment with your name choice & why you chose it
You can enter as many times as you'd like
Be sure to LEAVE ME AN ADDRESS TO CONTACT YOU!

The following names from last month's contest are already in the running:

Willow
Arabella
Lilah

You can always re-submit a name -just because I didn't "feel it" for last month's piece doesn't mean it won't work for this one. Contest ends on May 19th.

Good Luck!
