How is this ok?

My mother calls me the other day to tell me about a conversation she had with Sophia my 2nd grader. Sophia asked my mother who she voted for in the election and after my mother told her Sophia replied very matter of factly that "Obama kills babies" when asked where she heard that she said in school. Needless to say I was disturbed to hear that. When Sophia came home from school I asked her about it. Apparently one of her classmates had been spreading the word in class. Did I mention she's 2nd grade? She's 7 years old. 7 year old children take things literally. Now my child and her friends think that our next president will be showing up in our town to kill all the babies. How is it ok for a parent to describe someone who will be the topic of many discussions in class in such a graphic and horrific manner? Do they want to comfort my child when she is terrified that her friend's sister will soon be gone? I am all for freedom of speak when it's done responsibly and not done to instill fear in a child. Oh and when the parents were called to be notified what had occurred that didn't feel the need to returned to the call. I guess they don't feel the need to stand behind the words that had such an impact on such little minds.
