Friday Fabulous Find

Happy Halloween! I hope everyone is having a great time and not eating enough candy to put you in a sugar coma. Today's fab find is a business that a couple of my friends started some time ago. It's called Glitter Girls Glam Parties. What they do is come to your home and do a makeover party for your little girls. Just like the store that rhymes with "bibby boo" but you don't have to drag a bunch of kids to the mall,be jammed packed in a very tiny space with music loud enough to cause your ears to bleed or spend a large chunk of your life's savings. Best yet both the Christines that own the business are licenced beauticians with more than 20 years experience between them so your daughter will be worked on by professionals not a 16 year old who was working in the food court a week ago. I actually had them do Gabriella's 10 birthday and the kids had a blast. My Gabby is definitely not a fu-fu girl so she did the radical rock star makeover and loved it. One of my favorite things was the even when the girls were in full makeover mode they still looked like little girls not drag queens in training like they do at the before mentioned place. They have their hair, nails and make-up done,do a fun craft and get to pick great take aways. They are offering a 10% discount on a party if you mention that you saw them on my blog! Make sure to tell your friends. Based on Long Island. Here are some photos from the party.

Just another day in the bow factory

I know my postings have been scarce lately but I have been insanely busy making bows. I have an order for over 50 bows with most of them being boutique bows. My boutique bows have four separate layers so needless to say they take a lot of time. After I got through most of the order I received another order from the same customer that is 6 pages long! Yikes! I'll put up a photo when it's completed. In between the orders I've been making new jewelry in fall colors for iaatj. I don't think I mentioned before the PTA at my children's school is having a fashion school at a beautiful catering hall overlooking the Long Island Sound and I am providing all the jewelry for it. I also have Sophia home sick this week with strep. Oh and I also have a upper respiratory and sinus infection with swollen glands so that is definately slowing me down. So that's what has been going on here and why I've been mia lately. I hope to be somewhat caught up by next week but I make no promises. So now that I'm done complaining I have to finish the laundry then get back to the bow factory.

Friday Fabulous Find

Congradulations to last week's winners!

Lori from Long Island,NY

Donna from Jacksonville,Fla.

Krista fom Austin,Tx.

Enjoy you hair jewels!

This week's find is Origins Peace of mind on the spot relief. I love this stuff. I use it whenever I feel like I'm going to lose it. So yes-I use it often! You gently rub a drop on your temples and you actually start to relax. It has a slight tingling sensation and a light pleasant aroma. It doesn't make a headache go away but it does help.Available at Origins for $10.00. Not a bad price for something that lasts a long time. It the lotion doesn't help relieve your stress you can always throw the bottle at whoever is causing the stress in the first place!

Not The Same Old Friday Fabulous Find

Today I decided to do something a bit different for my Friday Find. I found out yesterday that I don't need to have surgery. I've been in a fabulous mood even since and I thought I'd try to put some other people in a fabulous mood too! Instead of reviewing a product I'm giving away a product. The first 3 people to e-mail me at with "friday find" as the subject will win a hair jewel of your choice from my site Drama Queen Bows & Jewels.Good Luck!

Red lights are optional?

Ok-yesterday we decided to take the girls pumpkin picking. So we are sitting at the light in a major intersection when we get the green arrow. Not one,not two,not even three but four friggin' cars run the light! Next intersection 2 more cars in both directions run the light. Next light only one cars runs it but a second car halfway through his decision to run it changes his mind and stops-an entire car lane over the line! When did red lights become optional? Did I just not get the memo? My theory is this-you may runs a light for 3 reasons 1. There is a person in your car about to push a smaller person out of them 2. The person who has been on your bumper for miles will drive right through you if you stop 3. Your ass is literally on fire. Other than that stop at a red light. You'll still get to wherever it is you are rushing to- only if you stop you have a better chance of getting there alive. My husband thinks it's just a New York thing-I disagree. I believe disregard for traffic laws knows no state borders.

Also wanted to mention

It's worth a look! Click on the link below to get to my links page. Some of the companies are Clinique,Vera Bradley & Origins.

Friday's Fabulous Find

I should start by mentioning that I am a beauty product junkie. Body lotion is my crack. I have have bottles of lotion all over my house so I can get a fix whenever I need one. I know it's a problem but I have no intention to seek treatment. That being said one of my absolute favorite brands is Philosophy. I have loved every item of theirs I have tried. Not only are the products high quality but the company itself is very generous. Today I will discuss 2 of their products which 100% of the sale of these items will go to charity.$20.00
Shower for the cure is a 3-in-one(shower gel, shampoo, bubblebath) super creamy lotion with milk proteins and fruit essence. I love it as a shower gel but I have never used it as a shampoo.100% of the proceeds from the sale of this product will go to the Woman's Cancer Research Fund.

Inner Grace is another 3-in-one shower gel. This one is a favorite of mine. The lovely subtle fragrance lasts for hours. The creamy gel feels incredible on your skin.100% of philosophy's net proceeds from the sale of inner grace, inspired by the life of late Dana Reeve, will be donated to the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation. $22-$30

I love how these products make me feel both physically and emotionally and I love to support a company who does the right thing and gives back.

Disney Photos

Here are a few photos from our trip to Disney

This was taken before dinner at Cinderella's Castle. The castle was lovely but the food was terrible and because it was a "unique dining experience" it required 2 sit down meal points on the meal plan. So not worth it.

This is the full version of my blog picture. Again sorry about the sunglasses. This is a very rare photo. We are all smiling and looking in the same direction. This almost never happens! This is at Epcot

This is John & Sophia at Hollywood studios. We are waiting there for my cousin Susan and her family. Neither her kids nor mine knew that the others would be there and were extremely surprised! I have to add that he is not happy that I am putting up this photo and is giving me grief this very moment. Too bad-my blog my rules. So suck it up pal!

This is all the kids & the big cheese at the Not so scary Halloween Party. It's a ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom. If you get the chance to go~do it! It was tons of fun. It runs from 7pm-12 am.The kids trick-or-treated,they saw tons of characters and the parade was amazing. Best yet they limit the amount of tickets to the party so the park is empty. We literally walked on every ride.

I know I missed Friday's Fab find last week but I have a good excuse. I am crazy busy with orders. I received an order for 50 boutique bows. For those of you who don't know my bows each boutique bow has 4 separate layers to them.Needless to say between that order , jewelry orders and just life in general I swamped. I promise this Friday I'll do 2 reviews. On a different note I finally put up a photo of me. I have sunglasses on but that's the best it gets!

Check Your Knockers!

I don't like to get preachy and I promise I won't do it much but this is a very important topic to me. As you know October is breast cancer awareness month. During the month I donate 50% of the proceeds from the sales of everything pink on both my sites. I also made a special necklace named appropriately "Hope" for IAATJ that I will donate 80% off the proceeds from the sales of it to the Susan G Komen Foundation. So please spread to word. The more I sell the more I can donate!

If you haven't had a mammography and you are over 35 get it done! It's not a big deal and it's a lifesaver. I myself have had 5 masses biopsied in the last 3 years-2 removed,2 core biopsied & 1 needle biopsy. Fortunately all have been benign But I know woman who have not been so lucky. 182,460 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in American women in 2008 alone Breast cancer doesn't care if you are young or old, rich or poor, married with kids and happily single. Make sure to give your girls, knockers, boobs or whatever you call them a monthly self exam. If you find something SEE A DOCTOR!! Early detection is the best defense.Don't become a statistic.
I'll get off my soapbox now...

We're Baack!

The trip to Disney was great! Up until our very last day there was little to no humidity and bright blue skies. We had the best time but I am totally exhausted and happy to be home. I'll put up for photos soon but I have much more important issues to discuss first.
